All undergraduate applications are made online through the UCAS website. You don’t have to submit your application in one sitting, but we do recommend you make a start as soon as possible.
Apply to study with us by 6pm on Wednesday 29th January 2025. Follow the steps and apply through UCAS!
UCAS have lots of really helpful information and advice on how to apply.
Before we break down the application process, let’s start with the basics.
For any course you’re applying for, you’ll need the institution and course codes. To start your application to study at the Academy of Live Technology, you’ll need:
· B05 Academy of Live Technology institution code
· W990 BA (Hons) Live Visual Design and Production
· N281 BA (Hons) Live Events Production
· W460 BA (Hons) Stage and Production Management
· N820 FdA Live Events Production
· 4F89 BA (Hons) Live Events Production (Top Up)
Got your heart set on studying at ALT but haven’t made your mind up on which course you’d prefer to study? You can apply for more than one course at a single institution.
You will be invited to interview for all courses that you apply for. At your interviews, we will support and advise you on which course we think will suit your personal, professional and career aspirations.

Your personal statement is about telling us more about what makes you – you! You’ll want to start by telling us why you want to study at ALT, and what about the course you’re applying for interests you. You should also include:
· What are you passionate about in the live entertainment and creative industries?
· What relevant experiences, skills or qualities do you have?
· Where would you like your career to take you?

Once we have received your application through UCAS, our Admissions team will get in touch to attend an interview.
All our applicants are invited to interview. You can choose to do your interview online or in person on campus, depending on what is easier for you. If you opt to have your interview on campus, you’ll have get another chance to look around with one of our Student Ambassadors – so you can ask them those all-important questions from our students themselves!
Make sure to keep an eye on your emails for your invitation to interview.

Our interviews are an informal and friendly conversation to get to know you better. You’ll meet with one of the academic team, where we’ll chat to you about:
· Your career aspirations
· Our curriculum and industry-integrated learning
· Technology and equipment
· Work experience and opportunities to work in the industry
You can bring a portfolio of work with you to show us if you’d like to, but this is certainly not an interview requirement. We love to see anything you’ve worked on or have experienced that has influenced your decision to apply to study with us.

You’ll receive a notification through your UCAS Hub account when we have made a change to your application so it’s really important to regularly check this!
Following a successful interview and application to study, you will receive an offer to study with us. There’s two types of offer:
· Unconditional offer – you have met all the entry requirements
· Conditional offer – you will be required to meet the academic or other entry requirements before you can start the course.
If you’ve made up your mind on where you’d like to study, you can accept your offer on your UCAS Hub account. The ball is in your court!
But please do check your emails and UCAS Hub account regularly as your application may not be progressed if we don’t hear back from you.

Now it’s over to you! You can accept your offer on UCAS as soon as you have received decisions from all your choices.
You can accept your offer to study by either responding as your ‘firm choice’ or ‘insurance choice’.
This, in simple terms, means that if you know 100% where you want to study, you would choose to confirm as your firm choice.
Your insurance choice is where you would be happy to study if you didn’t quite make it into your first choice.
