Les Misérables cast and crew gather at Production Park ahead of global tour

Imagine working alongside the cast and crew of one of the world’s most iconic musicals, right at the start of their global arena tour. That’s exactly what some of our students recently experienced as Les Misérables took over Studio 001 at Production Park to rehearse for their worldwide tour.

In early September, the cast and crew of this legendary production, including seasoned Les Mis veterans, arrived at our campus to perfect every element of the show. With nearly 170 performers, technicians and backstage crew on site, the Production Park campus was buzzing with activity, and some of our students had a front-row seat (and hands-on roles) in making it all happen.

Undergraduates from ALT played important supporting roles, working alongside industry professionals, giving them a taste of what it’s like to work on a major international production.

And it wasn’t just about watching from the side-lines. Our undergraduates rolled up their sleeves and jumped into the thick of it, gaining hands-on experience with live production challenges that can’t be replicated in the classroom. Working with our trusted suppliers and our own onsite tech teams, students were part of the team delivering a smooth rehearsal experience.

At  ALT, we pride ourselves on offering student’s opportunities to learn in an environment where education meets real industry practice. Whether it’s preparing for a world tour or working on smaller projects, our students are immersed in the world of live events from day one.
