Major Project Showcase - The Meat Factory Murders
Hosted in the new Studio 003 at Backstage, this group of students were hell-bent on creating an immersive experience that would scare your socks off. An ambitious project that made use of a huge amount of set and staging construction, the students produced a horror house style paranormal investigation into the home of a serial killer.
Guided by a particularly odd character and local enthusiast of the serial killer’s story, otherwise known as Stage Performer & Magician, Paul Forster, you ventured into the darkened corridors of the murderous home.
Using a dramatic combination of vivid lighting, and contrasting light and darkness, the student group produced a truly hair-raising experience. Along with triggered sounds of creeks, bumps & thunder that were timed to perfection to make you jump out of your skin.
The entire production called for masses of prop making. From the set design of the bedroom where victims were held against their will and the photography-dark-room-come-killers-lair, to the gruesome photographs and blood-soaked butcher knives.
A story of kidnap, murder and mystery gave the audience a frightful experience that ended with one heck of a jump scare!
