Wakefield Creative Leaders ALT and CAPA College unite for a Groundbreaking Theatrical Spectacle: ROCK THE WORLD

West Yorkshire’s creative powerhouses, the Academy of Live Technology (ALT) and CAPA College are set to ignite the stage with an electrifying new collaboration: ROCK THE WORLD.

In a bold, world-class partnership, students from CAPA College will shine under the spotlight while ALT’s cutting-edge production talents drive the show behind the scenes. Hosted at the heart of Production Park - home to ALT’s state-of-the-art campus and one of the UK’s leading live production training facilities - this thrilling production promises to push the boundaries of live performance. Directed and choreographed by CAPA College’s award-winning faculty, and performed by the next generation of creative stars, the production fuses stunning artistry and technical brilliance. CAPA College’s elite students will take centre stage, supported by the expert work of ALT’s international students, who will manage every element of the technical production - from lighting, sound, and set construction to stage management and costume.

This unique partnership brings together two powerhouse institutions from West Yorkshire's creative education landscape:

· ALT - the UK’s premier institution for training live events specialists in audio, lighting, scenic design, stage management and live visuals through both degree and short courses.

· CAPA College - the leading Creative and Performing Arts college in the North of the UK and top-state sixth form for A-Level results in West Yorkshire. The college is renowned for nurturing the next generation of talent across Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre, Film & TV & Production Arts in top industry standards facilities.

ROCK THE WORLD showcases the dynamic synergy between performance and production. ALT’s international students, led by industry-experienced ALT instructors, have undergone a four-week Theatrical Production course which equips learners with the essential skills to build, manage, and execute large-scale theatrical productions – with focused training across five core departments:

· Scenic Design & Construction

· Audio Production

· Lighting & Visuals (LX)

· Stage & Production Management

· Wardrobe & Costume

The collaborative project is not only a celebration of artistic and technical excellence - it’s a powerful statement about the region’s growing reputation as a hub for creative innovation. By pooling their strengths, ALT and CAPA College are demonstrating that West Yorkshire is a place where performance and production don’t just coexist - they thrive together.

“This collaboration is a real milestone for both institutions,” said Matt Glynn, Head of International Training at ALT. “It shows what’s possible when we combine our strengths to build something greater together. For our students - especially those experiencing their first-ever live production environment - this is more than a show. It’s a launchpad.”

"At CAPA College, we believe in empowering young artists to dream big and reach even higher. Partnering with ALT gives our students the rare opportunity to work alongside world-class production teams and perform at the highest level. ROCK THE WORLD captures everything we stand for at CAPA College: creativity, ambition, and professional excellence."

Claire Nicholson, Principal of CAPA College

As West Yorkshire continues to invest in creative education and industry infrastructure, the partnership between ALT and CAPA College serves as a model for what’s possible when institutions break down silos and come together with a shared vision: to equip the next generation of talent with the tools, confidence, and platform to succeed - whether on stage or behind the scenes.

ROCK THE WORLD is scheduled to take place at Production Park on 16th May, with more details to be announced shortly.
